Presenting the award is Dr. Max Smith (music faculty). Seated behind Dr. Smith, and from the left, are Vice Chancellor Harvey Durham (Academic Affairs) and Dean O.K. Webb (Student Affairs). Seated at the table from the right are Dr. Ernest Lane (mathematics faculty), Dr. Teresa Early (mathematics faculty) and Dr. Hans Heyman (English faculty). The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State.
