Description

This image shows Terry Deweese, a member of the Homecoming court, stepping out of the back of a convertible at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1966. The audience can be seen in the background. The sign on the side of the car reads, "Homecoming Court, Miss Terry Deweese." The Homecoming court consisted of Queen Sharon Dodge and attendants Terry Deweese, Mary Verble, Helen Eicher, Julie Lindsey, and Cindy Starr. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
