The man on the far left is Mr. Bob Snead. Next to him is Mr. Howard Cottrell, Bookstore Manager. The man standing next to the goat and looking toward the ground is Mr. Tony Gray who at the time was an Appalachian basketball player.

Description

This image shows a student recipient of a plaque walking towards the bleachers during halftime at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, during Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) Homecoming game in October 1966. Observers, including mascot Yosef and his pet goat Goldie, can be seen standing against a brick wall in the background. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen. The man on the far left is Mr. Bob Snead. Next to him is Mr. Howard Cottrell, Bookstore Manager. The man standing next to the goat and looking toward the ground is Mr. Tony Gray who at the time was an Appalachian basketball player and would later become the Director of Conferences and Institutes in the Division of Continuing Education
