This image shows the Circle K float in the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade driving down a street in Boone, NC, in October 1971. Students can be seen sitting on a float on hay bales, drinking out of jugs. Other cars can be seen behind them. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
