This image shows part of the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) Homecoming Parade in the 1960s. President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) can be seen riding in a convertible on the Promenade. Onlookers can be seen in the foreground. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
