This image shows a member of the Homecoming court standing with her escort at the Homecoming dance in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1966. The Homecoming court consisted of Queen Sharon Dodge and attendants Terry Deweese, Mary Verble, Helen Eicher, Julie Lindsey, and Cindy Starr. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
