This image shows a float in the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade going down King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1967. Three students can be seen standing on the float, dressed in a sweater and pants, academic robes, and a crusader costume. The visible word on the side reads, "Spanish." Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
