Description

This image shows a float in the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade going down King Street in Boone, NC, in the mid-1960s. Two people can be seen standing on a float designed like a two-masted ship with the words "New Horizons ASU" on the side. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
