Homecoming Parade, circa 1970, photo 2

This image shows a float in the Homecoming parade at Appalachian State University (1967-current) passing in front of the B. B. Dougherty Administration Building, built 1968, in the late-1960s or early 1970s. Three women can be seen standing on the back of a float, reading, "Palette for Progress." Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
