Title

Barn Theater Model, 1971, photo 2

Description

This image shows the model of the interior of the Barn Theater and the adjoining building designed by theater technician Hagan King of Penn State University for Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1971. The structure was one of four barns originally used to hold 200 Holsteins by the campus dairy at Old State Farm, which closed in 1964. The plans called for turning the largest of the four barns into a 206-seat theater for plays, dances, films, and lectures, with adjoining dressing rooms in the silo. It opened in 1972.
