This image shows a group of students playing volleyball during a a course in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Now the Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science, it is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts, and offers degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Promotions, Physical Education and Recreation Management.
