Description

This image shows a swimming class being taught in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1960s. Swim classes were held in the Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955. Appalachian State offered courses for physical education majors in beginners and advanced swimming, but also offered recreational classes for freshmen and sophomore non-majors.
