Athletic Trainers, 1986-87, photo 4

This image shows the athletic training staff for the Athletic Department at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1986-87. Athletic trainers included staff and students enrolled in the Athletic Training Curriculum, and worked to prevent and treat athletic injuries. Each varsity sport had at least one athletic trainer assigned to it, excepting football which had four. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 356). Standing first on the far right is Mr. Craig Denegar, second from the right is Mr. Rod Walters and third from the right is Ms. Cindy Thomas; each of these persons is a member of the Training Staff.
