This image shows student Julie Hinch building a 600 foot long submarine sandwich along Sanford Mall at Appalachian State University (1967-current) on September 17, 1986. The sandwich was constructed by Pi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity and Subway Restaurant, and co-sponsored by the Appalachian State Food Services to raise money for United Way. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 23).
