This image shows a group of students inflating a parachute in a gymnasium at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the early 1960s. The gymnasium appears to be the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934, located at the current location of Rankin Science Hall, built 1963. The group activity would have been part of a course in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
