This image shows one of the rugby teams playing on a field at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1985. A player can be seen holding the ball while another stands in the background. Rugby has been played at Appalachian State since 1976. In 1985-86, it was split into three teams, "A," comprised of the most experienced players, "B," for intermediate players, and "C," for new and inexperienced players. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p.321).
