This image shows one of the rugby teams playing on a field at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1985. A player from Appalachian State grabs the ball in the air while others attempt to pull him back. Rugby has been played at Appalachian State since 1976. In 1985-8, it was split into three teams, "A," comprised of the most experienced players, "B," for intermediate players, and "C," for new and inexperienced players. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p.314).
