This image shows Louis Ance of the Ottawa/Chippewa tribe speaking to students in Duncan Hall, built 1965, during the Native American Festival at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1986. The Festival was sponsored by the ASU Native American Council and took place on October 22-23, 1986. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 63).
