Triple-T Project, class, photo 1

Description

This image shows a Mr. Cecil Hagaman, the Personnel Director Watauga County Public Schools helping an elementary school student with class work in a classroom at one of the participating schools in the Triple-T Project in the 1970s. Coats can be seen hanging on the wall in the background, and another student is seen sitting on the left. The Training for Teacher Trainers (Triple-T) Project was a grant-funded program at Appalachian State University (1967-current) to retrain teachers already in the work force, using new methods for teaching teachers with students in actual classroom situations. It was part of a group of educational research projects including the Appalachian Training Complex, the Lighthouse School Program, and the Teacher Corps.
