This image shows guest speaker Borden Mace, executive director of the Appalachian Consortium Project, holding a statue and giving a speech at an awards ceremony held by the Honors Program in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1976-77. The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State.
