This image shows staff member giving a group of incoming students a campus tour during freshman orientation at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. Sanford Mall can be seen in the background. Freshmen orientation included welcome addresses, advising, program meetings, campus tours and registering for classes, as well as placement testing.
