Seen standing in the background is William Howard Plemmons, Appalachian State president from 1955-1969. The awards to be distributed can be seen on the table. The Cannon Music Camp began in 1969 and focused providing intensive group and individual training in performance and music theory. Recitals and concerts are performed regularly throughout the summer. The woman in the black dress and seated on the right is Mrs. Lois Isley, wife of Dr. Charles Isley, Professor in the Department of Music. Seen in the background in front of the window is President William H. Plemmons. Seen in the foreground and wearing the white dress is Mrs. Bebe Plemmons, wife of President Plemmons.
