This image shows a man speaking at an awards banquet for the Cannon Music Camp in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in August 1969. Seen sitting in the foreground is Mrs. and Dr. Plemmons, Appalachian State president from 1955-1969. The awards to be distributed can be seen on the table. The Cannon Music Camp began in 1969 and focused providing intensive group and individual training in performance and music theory. Recitals and concerts are performed regularly throughout the summer. Seated on the right beside President Plemmons is Mrs. Lois Isley, wife of Dr. Charles Isley who was a Professor in the Department of Music.
