Description

This image shows Nicholas Erneston, music professor and dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts, standing in an auditorium during a performance by students in the Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1960s. Erneston was a professor in the music department from 1948 until his retirement in 1992, and served as dean since 1968. The Cannon Music Camp began in 1969 and focused providing intensive group and individual training in performance and music theory. Recitals and concerts are performed regularly throughout the summer.
