Description

This image shows two Geology students looking at rocks in a lab in the Department of Geology at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1985. The Department of Geology began in 1949. It emphasizes the scientific principles of geology and preparing students to be professional geologists and teachers. It is the only Bachelor of Science program that results in an Earth Science Teaching certification in North Carolina. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p. 243).
