Description

This image shows three Appalachian State University (1967-current) employees who were recipients of twenty-five year pins during a SEANC meeting in December 1977. Seen are Allan Beach, Angie Edmisten, and Ethel Parlier. The State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) started in 1940 to provide representation for state employees in the North Carolina General Assembly, and held its first convention in 1947. The organization promoted increased salaries, retirement plans, health plans, and the addition of the Friday after Thanksgiving as an employee holiday.
