Staff Awards, 1980, photo 9

This image shows a group of students playing flutes during a staff luncheon at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center, built 1972, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in January 1980. The luncheon was to commemorate staff receiving awards for outstanding staff performance. The students are elementary school students, and the man, Mr. David Gaston, is a music instructor at Harden Park Elementary School.
