Description

This image shows two employees of the University Post Office unloading bags of mail from a truck after a snowstorm at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in January 1968. The University Post Office served as a contract station of the United States Postal Service and sorted intercampus and regular mail for the University, students, and staff. They also operated mail boxes for on-campus students. It was housed in the W. H. Plemmons Student Union, built 1967, before being moved to the Student Services Building, built 1981. The University Post Office is a unit of financial management within the Office of Business Affairs.
