This image shows two students sledding down a hill after a snowstorm at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in January 1980. Sledding was a common pastime for students, using materials including sleds, inner tubes, and trays taken from the cafeteria. Sanford Hall, built 1969, can be seen in the background.
