This image shows some car seats removed from the cars and left to dry out after a flood at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1973. On May 28, 1973, the Kraut Creek on the southern end of campus flooded after 1.6 inches of rainfall and caused thousands of dollars of property damage, primarily cars parked in lots north of Rivers Street.
