The Appalachian State University Foundation was founded in 1970 and raised private funds for campus improvements, academic programs, and scholarships. The first woman to the left of Chancellor Wey is Mrs. Mary Allen. Next to her is Mrs. Minnie Snead, and next to her is Mr. Robert Snead, Vice Chancellor for Development and Public Affairs.
