Description

This image shows Dr. Frank Randall teaching a biology class at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in July 1977. A stuffed hawk can be seen hanging from the ceiling in the background. Professor John Frank Randall taught at Appalachian State from 1957 until retirement in 1989. The Department of Biology aimed to provide cultural background in life sciences, prepare biology teachers, and train biologists. It is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and maintains a greenhouse, a herbarium, and several land tracts located on and off campus.
