Title

Rankin Science Hall, 1974

Description

This image shows the northern side of Rankin Science Hall, built 1963, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1974. Graffiti can be seen written in chalk on the building's side, reading, "Class of '74." A student can be seen walking along a sidewalk in the foreground. Rankin Hall replaced Smith-Wright Hall as the primary science building at Appalachian State, and was expanded in 1970. It also housed the Dark Sky Observatory, now called the Rankin Science Observatory.
