Title

Dougherty House, photo 3

Description

The Dougherty House was built in 1903 by D. D. Dougherty and served as home to both him and B. B. Dougherty. It was originally located on Rivers St., but was moved to allow for a parking lot, and stood at the current location of CAP Science Building. It was purchased by the Appalachian Heritage Museum and moved to Route 321 between Boone and Blowing Rock in 1989. This image shows the northern (front) side of the building. Rivers Street can be seen in the foreground.
