May Day Festival, 1973, photo 3

This image shows two students attending the May Day Festival at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in May 1973. The student on the left can be seen in a bowler hat and bow tie. Other students are visible in the background. The May Day festival took place on Sanford Mall and included the crowning of the May queen, decorating a maypole, races and games. This image appears in the 1974 Rhododendron (p. 27).
