Justice Residence Hall, second, photo 5

Description

This image shows Justice Residence Hall during move-in day at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The Daniel Boone Monument, originally built 1913, can be seen in the foreground. A banner reading, "Lay it Away Tod..." can be seen displayed on the hillside, and toilet paper has been streamed on the hill and in a tree on the right. Justice Hall was built in 1952 as a men's dormitory. It was located on the southwestern end of campus and housed 322 students. This image shows the northern side of the building. It is part of the Yosef Hollow Community of residence halls, along with Coltrane, Gardner, and Newland Halls. It is the second residence hall by this name.
