Description

This image shows a luncheon held by the Alumni Association at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, in 1969. Four Alumni Association officers can be seen standing behind a table. Other attendees can be seen sitting on the left and right. The Alumni Association started in 1934 and met at least once a year during Homecoming for reunions, association business, and officer elections. The man seated on the right is Mr. Bill Rankins. Fourth from him and standing next to the speaker is Mr. Jim Whittington. On the far right and wearing glasses is Mr. Herman Eggers (Registrar). Next to him is Ms. Bebe Plemmons, and seated beside her is President William H. Plemmons.
