This image shows James Hunt, governor of North Carolina from 1977-1985 and 1993-2001, standing with North Carolina Senator Samuel Ervin and an unidentified woman during a visit sponsored by the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice is in the College of Arts and Sciences and offers a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, a pre-professional Legal Studies major, and a graduate program leading to Master of Arts in Political Science, Master of Public Administration, and Master of Science in Criminal Justice & Criminology degrees.
