Description

This image shows the bulletin board of the Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1986-87. The board reads, "ASU Physical Education for the Handicapped, and Ecological Approach." The Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts, and offers degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Promotions, Physical Education and Recreation Management. The Physical Education program also includes programs for teaching physical education to the disabled and rehabilitation activities for athletic injuries. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 150).
