Description
This image shows Ronlin Foreman dressed as a clown covered in a quilt during a performance in Farthing Auditorium, built 1974, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) as part of the Artist and Lecture Series on November 6, 1986. Foreman performed a skit involving clowning and miming. Foreman was an internationally known actor, playwright, director, and professor. Established in the mid-1950s, Artist and Lecture Series was a program to bring a variety of music, dance, and theater performances to Appalachian State. Performances and lectures were scheduled throughout the University's academic year, and were attended by students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the surrounding community. Nationally or regionally known artists, musicians, and scholars were invited to the university based on relevance to students and campus events. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 58).
