This image shows Mathematics Professors Ron Ensley and G. T. Buckland standing with Chancellor Herbert Walter Wey (1969-1979) by part of computer used by the computer science program in the Department of Mathematical Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The Department of Mathematic Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science degree program with concentrations in applied mathematics, general mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics. The graduate program leads to Master of Science degrees in mathematics or mathematics education with teacher certification.
