This image shows a speaker giving a demonstration with paint during a conference held by the College of Learning and Human Development at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The College of Learning and Human Development included programs for training primary, secondary, and special education teachers, reading specialists, media coordinators, speech pathologists, counselors, and school administrators. It became the College of Education in the early 1980s. It offered Bachelor of Science degrees with teacher certification for elementary education, library science, special education, and physical education, and required students to teach for at least one semester in the field of specialty on or off campus.
