Description

This image shows an Industrial Arts Club float in the Homecoming Parade at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1950s. The float reads, "Appalachian bridge to progress," and includes a model of the Earth and a bridge with signs including various branches of science. A student wearing a graduate cap and gown is standing at one end of the bridge. Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State, including plays, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
