Title
Rhododendron, 1958, "The Search for Knowledge," photo 2
Description
This image shows a student taking notes from an open book at a table, possibly in Dougherty Library, built 1935, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Other students can be seen studying in the background, and paintings line the walls. This image was published in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 8), with the title, "The Search for Knowledge." It was part of an introductory series of images, reading, "A. S. T. C. is more than a school... it is a state of mind, the search for knowledge, the desire for gaiety, the determination to win, the will to serve, the need for recognition, and a time for humility." The Rhododendron was the student produced yearbook for Appalachian State since 1922 to 1992, and 2004 to 2005, when it ceased publication.
