This image shows a student grading a meal prepared by students in a food and nutrition course in the Department of Home Economics in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in February 1981. The Department of Home Economics is now the Family and Consumer Sciences Department and provides graduate and undergraduate programs in child development, nutrition, apparel and textiles, and family and consumer sciences.
