Description

This image shows the descendants of Appalachian State co-founders B. B. and D. D. Dougherty reviewing paperwork with a graduate student. They are photographed inside the D. D. Dougherty Library (built 1935). Brown, sitting on the right, donated a copy of his biography of B. B. Dougherty to the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection. R. E. Scoggins is standing to the right and Lilly Penz is on the left. Brown was married to Clara, daughter of D. D. and Lillie Shull Dougherty.
