Description

This image shows three students by a swimming pool with both arms tied to their sides for a physical education class in the Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts, and offers degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Promotions, Physical Education and Recreation Management. The Physical Education program also includes programs for teaching physical education to the disabled and rehabilitation activities for athletic injuries.
