Description

This image shows two men in the Department of Geology at Appalachian State University (1967-current) standing in front of a collection of maps on a table in the 1970s. The Department of Geology began in 1949. It emphasizes the scientific principles of geology and preparing students to be professional geologists and teachers. It is the only Bachelor of Science program that results in an Earth Science Teaching certification in North Carolina.
