This image shows two women in ceremonial dress performing a cultural performance in Farthing Auditorium, built 1974, during the Foreign Language Day festivities in the Department of Foreign Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. Programs in the Department of Foreign Languages focus on teaching students both the language and culture of a region, and includes courses in French, Spanish, Chinese, German, Arabic, Japanese, Latin, and Russian, as well as offering classes for international business and economics majors in the College of Business.
