Description

This image shows Professor Dan Stillwell, Dr. Terry Epperson, and Chancellor Herbert Walter Wey (1969-1979) standing by a model of the Earth done by the Department of Geography and Community Planning at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in December 1975. The Department of Geography and Community Planning offers BA degrees in Geography and BS degrees in Community Planning, with courses in geographic techniques, quantitative methods, urban and political geography, land use, and regional planning. The completed Earth is currently located in the lower level staircase of the first Belk Library, built 1968.
